Stamped Concrete Project in Santa Clara

London Cobble Stamp Pattern with Dark Release Agent

Coastal Paving's concrete crew had a very interesting project to work on today in Santa Clara. This particular property had several areas where the original architect had artfully designed areas with concrete paving stones. Unfortunately the architect did not anticipate that subgrade problems would plague his design and the site. Although paving stones are very beautiful and durable, they are often installed in locations that cannot support their structure. Heavy deliver truck and vehicle traffic exacerbated the poor subgrade issues. In this instance the site has inadequate structural integrity for the intended use which caused the paving stones to settle and create sunken areas. The owner of the property contact our company about a solution.

Concrete Crew Placing MaterialWe provided them with an alternative to their existing design by removing the paving stones and installing stamped concrete. First task was to remove and dispose of the existing paving stone and stabilize the subgrade section.

The client really liked the look that the paving stones provided so we suggested a stamped concrete pattern. We selected a london cobble stamp with a dark grey release agent which would give the concrete a multi tone aging. Here are some of the initial project photos of the work we performed. In a few days we will come back and document the finished product one the concrete has some time to cure, usually 7-10 days.
